News Update on the Headley Pavilion Project – February 2026

Heading photo: Students from Alton College making a video of the site construction.

Last month we reported that the number of visible improvements was accelerating, and this has continued spectacularly. With only a couple of weeks to go to handover, the Flint Construction team are hard at work putting the final fixtures and fittings in place. Students from Alton College are making a short video for us to document the new chapter in the Headley Pavilion, so we fitted in a quick visit for them to record the construction work in progress before the contractors leave the site.

This gave us a chance for a catch-up on progress which is proceeding at pace indoors. Not so much outdoors unfortunately because the constant rain has severely hampered the completion of pathways and external fittings. Inside we saw the new hall floor going down after the concrete below had finally dried out sufficiently. The changing rooms are almost complete, with new benches, hooks, storage in the Home changing rooms and even hairdryers. Each changing room has a bold flash of colour on walls and tiles which is very appealing.

The kitchen is complete and just waiting on the installation of appliances, as is the new bar. The entrance foyer is bright and airy, leading into what was the original entrance and toilets. Gone are the dingy cubby-holes, we now have cubicles that wouldn’t look out of place in a classy hotel. Although the final handover to Headley Parish Council is still scheduled for 16th February, it is likely that some external work in pathways will have to continue for a few more days.

Our Opening Ceremony will be held on 4th May Bank Holiday, combined with the Here’s Headley event which be on the Playing Fields. Save the date and come along!
