Introducing…The Parish Enhancement Group!

The role of Headley Parish Council is very broad, so it makes sense to divide the activities up into dedicated Working Groups. These are not formal committees: the emphasis is on getting things done, not endless meetings! The Parish Enhancement Group (PEG) consists of five councillors and soon we hope, members of the local community as well.

The aim of the PEG is to enhance the appeal of Headley by improving the condition, sustainability and resilience of existing features of Headley Parish and, where possible and appropriate, creating new ones. This includes (and is not limited to):

  • Memorial benches and trees
  • Community orchard
  • Wildflower meadow
  • Public green spaces owned by Headley Council
  • Corne Corner
  • Flower beds and containers
  • Bus shelters
  • Playgrounds and play equipment
  • Telephone Box Defibrillator
  • Remembrance Day installations
  • Christmas Lights

We welcome suggestions from community for future projects to improve our village. We also welcome volunteers who would like to support our aims. This can include being a Warden or Lead, checking on the condition of areas such as playgrounds, Arford Common and bus shelters, and reporting back to the PEG. In addition, we welcome practical help from anyone who would be interested to doing some simple DIY, gardening and general tidying.

If you would like more information or feel you could support the PEG in any capacity, please contact the Parish Office clerk@headleypc.com in the first instance. Thank you!

(It would be lovely if our wildflower meadow looked like this one day!)
