News Update on the Headley Pavilion November 2025

Heading photo: the all-new foyer and hall extension with balcony above.

The cooler months are now upon us, and that is good timing for the construction team because most of the external building work has been completed. Most of the scaffolding has been removed, leaving only a small section to enable them to lift the heavy paving slabs onto the new balcony. As soon as that is completed, you will see the railings installed.

The big bifold glass door at the end of the hall is in place, and that will give access from the hall and bar area to an outside patio and path around to the new pétanque terrain. Unfortunately the other main front window and door are delayed at the factory otherwise we could see an almost complete frontage.

Inside the building, the wiring and pipework is being connected up to create the heating, lighting and power systems that will make the building bright and comfortable. Internal painting is progressing and tiling in the shower areas started at the end of October. It will be a far cry from the painted block walls and crumbling tiles that we hadbefore.

Our next site meeting will be mid-November, and by then it’s going to look a lot less like a building site and a lot more like a useable building. I can’t wait to see what the new colour scheme looks like!

The time taken for the hall floor screed to harden has put the construction completion date back to mid-February, but we don’t expect this to affect the planned fit-out and opening dates in 2026. We will be combining the formal opening ceremony with the Here’s Headley celebration of local activities on the Bank Holiday 4th May 2026 at the Headley Pavilion and Playing Fields.
