News Update Headley Pavilion August 2025

The Flint Construction team have been making great progress and the overall shape of the new building is clearly visible. The heading photo shows the new entrance foyer leading into the extended hall space.

We previously had concerns about the condition of the hall floor under the vinyl covering, and when this was lifted it was confirmed that the concrete below was in poor condition. Having looked at a number of repair options none of which were guaranteed, we decided to dig up the entire floor and re-screed it. Although this is an additional expense, it has the advantage that we can bury heating pipes under the floor instead of running them along the walls, and we can install an induction loop for the audio system.

We have also been reviewing colour schemes for the public areas including options for a more dramatic wall treatment in the entrance foyer. We want it to be exciting, welcoming and inclusive so the choices here are very important even though it’s only paint!

When you are involved in a project of this scale, you realise just how many decisions have to be made even after the design is finalised. Our days are never without exchanges of emails between the builders, consultants, architect and Headley Parish Council about colours of railings, type of radiator, location of pipes and much, much more. It really is a team effort from all involved.

Despite the additional work on the hall floor, the project remains on budget and progressing according to expected timescales.
