Bus Shelters – Updated!
It’s hard to get excited by bus shelters, but when you see the improvements it’s hard not to! Following on from our previous News item, the work funded by a grant from EHDC to clean and refurbish the bus shelters in Headley has been completed.
The wooden bus shelter at Glebe Road has had a major makeover, and the difference is striking – see heading photos! The glazing panels have been completely replaced which will be a great relief to anyone standing there in the rain.
The metal-and-plastic shelters have had a thorough clean, and although due to age they can’t be brought to as-new condition, they are at least in a not-mouldy state, and you can even see through the glazing where it hasn’t been damaged by vandalism.
Other upgrades include improved access. The two bus shelters at Church Fields both have received improvements to the path, making it easier and safer to get from the shelter to the bus, particularly for wheelchairs and buggies.
The Village Green bus shelter was already in good condition, but we have slightly different plans for that. Watch out for more news!
