News Update on the Headley Pavilion Project January 2026

A highlight of December was hosting a visit from over 50 pupils from The Holme School, Headley. Site Manager Neil Kelly with his team and Gordon Kerr the architect had prepared a guided tour to show the children what goes on behind the safety fence around a busy building site. They also explained how the many specialist trades come together to work as a team to construct a new building. This inspirational visit was greatly enjoyed by both pupils and teachers, and maybe some careers in the construction industry were launched!

After many months of work on aspects of the building that few people will ever see – drainage, heating, cabling, brickwork and concrete – we are approaching the final weeks of the project and the finishing touches seem to appear at a rapid pace. Walls are plastered and painted; doors are fitted, floors are down in most rooms and the showers are complete. The design uses flashes of bold colours over a background of neutral grey which makes it look very contemporary.

Kitchen and bar fit-out are well under way and the outside approaches to the building are being tidied up and landscaped. We expect the flooring in the main hall to be completed in January, which was delayed due the new concrete screed floor taking a while to dry out.

The final handover from Flint Construction to Headley Parish Council is scheduled for 16th February, which will be followed by several weeks of further fit-out before the building can be available for use.

Our Opening Ceremony will be held on 4th May Bank Holiday, combined with the Here’s Headley event which be on the Playing Fields. Save the date and come along!
