Coronavirus business grants deadline set for 31 March

Eligible businesses that have not yet applied for a coronavirus-related business grant have until midnight on Wednesday 31 March 2021 when all current schemes bar one will close.

Grants are available from East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) for most businesses that have been forced to close by national lockdowns and tiered restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic.

Businesses that have remained open or are part of the supply chain for closed businesses and have been severely financially impacted by restrictions can also apply for discretionary grants through the additional restrictions grant (ARG) scheme.

On 31 March, all local restrictions support grant schemes (LRSG) – for tier two, tier four and national lockdowns – and the current ARG scheme will close. The council will not be able to consider grants for businesses affected by coronavirus restrictions from November 2020 to March 2021 applied for after this date.

Businesses that have not applied for any grants will still be able to apply for the National Lockdown payment for the period from 16 February to 31 March until 31 May 2021. The council has already issued this payment to those eligible businesses it has contact details for.

Businesses that received a coronavirus-related grant from the council during 2021 do not need to apply again. The council is awaiting details from the government of new grants for businesses announced in the Budget, which they expect to launch in April.
