The Parish Council was delighted to take a stand at the Headley Village Fete, a wonderful event organised by The Fete Committee.  It was good to meet so many residents and have the opportunity to talk about what the Parish Council has been up to.

In addition to the confirmed funding from the EHDC CIL and S106 funds towards the Pavilion and Playing Fields improvements, we are delighted to have been awarded £10,000 from the EHDC Supporting Communities Fund.

The Council considered the Grant applications to the Parish Council at the last meeting and are pleased to be able to award grants to all of the worthwhile causes which will bring benefit to people in our community.  Grants will be awarded in 2024 to the following:

The Holme CE Primary School

Headley Down Playing Field Committee

East Hampshire Citizen Advice Bureau

Victim Support

Home Start

Headley Down Nature Reserve Trust

Oakmoor School

River Wey Trust

Friends of All Saints Headley

The Clerk attended an event at Woodlands Hall to meet Community groups operating in our area. Really good to hear about all the amazing work going on by the Foodbank, Lions Club and the Blue Lamp Trust to name a few.  The Blue Lamp Trust offer a free service for the vulnerable and elderly in our community to check the safety and security of your home and will fit a broad range of equipment including door and window locks, window alarms, door chains and smoke/carbon monoxide alarms.  They are also running a new Cyber Bobby Scheme to advise you how to stay safe online.  If you would like the contact details, do contact the Parish Office, or keep an eye out for the flyers on our noticeboards.

Children’s Play areas: please, can we ask that you do not take dogs into the fenced play areas.  This is for everyone’s safety; the parish has plenty of open space where dogs can be exercised.  Please can we remind dog owners to pick up after their dogs, and that it is an offence not to do so.  The maximum fine is now £1,000.  Please help keep our lovely Village Green clean and safe for all its users.
