National Hedgerow Week

Saturday marked the start of the first ever National Hedgerow Week being organised by the Tree Council. The initiative aims to highlight the immense contribution the unsung hedgerow makes in the fight against climate change, biodiversity loss, and urban air pollution.

A number of activities will take place throughout the week, the first of which will be on Monday 31st May an ‘introduction to the dynamic world of hedgerows’.   • Proposed Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) @ Standford Grange Farm.

    Hampshire County Council as public landowner is currently seeking views on a new area of SANG at Standford Grange Farm. The proposed SANG is being brought forward alongside proposals by Miller Homes for 146 new homes on the site of the former Mill Chase Academy and Leisure Centre.
