Assistant Parish Clerk Vacancy

Hours: 8 hours per week (working pattern to be agreed)

Salary:  Local government SCP 15 – 23 (£27,803-£32,076 per annum pro rata depending on experience and qualifications).

Initial 6-month contact (to be agreed).  The role will be based at The Parish Office, Village Hall, Arford Road, Headley, GU35 8LJ.

Due to the increase in workload resulting from our new and exciting Parish Projects, the Parish Council is looking for an Assistant Clerk to provide support to the Clerk. Key duties include:

  • Managing the administration of the Allotments.
  • Administration of the website and managing press and social media strategy.
  • Council Policy reviews and updates.
  • Covering PC meetings in the absence of the Clerk

Experience in local government and the public sector preferred.  Applicants will need to offer good written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy including social media expertise.
